Hey everyone! Welcome to our on MyBlogU Content!
Welcome to the Chat at our weekly Tues 6p PDT / 9p EDT slot. (Note: This time slot will be changing mid-June)
Let's get down to it right away.
Q1: What challenges do you face with developing content for your blog or articles on the ‘net'?
A 1: When you look for ideas on the web, you tend to think everything's already taken up.
Our topic Chat hour: Featuring and * Welcome Ann!
Welcome Ann Smarty! So excited to have you here!
Sometimes just browsing through existing write-ups can give you great blog post ideas.
Q1 What challenges do you face with developing content for your blog or articles on the ‘net?
If u still struggle, try taking an existing post, and tailoring it to make it yours.
By existing post, I mean something someone else has written...
A1) Identifying good ideas & producing them in a timely manner
A1 having enough ideas to post consistently good content
Sounds like plagiarism? It doesn't have to be...
The way out is to do more research based on that topic you fancy.
My worst struggle is to keep my OWN blog updated :(
You'll soon see that the topic you originally chose has become something even more interesting
A1 Sometimes it is content ideas. Once I have an idea, the article flows.
Each point of the existing topic becomes a foundation for a whole new discussion.
A1 I usually have lots of ideas but lack time to either put together a blog post or even save those ideas properly
Collect more information, analyze, discuss.
How do you keep track of them? Do you track all of the ideas in
A1 Most difficult challenge = only 24 hours a day!
Q2 What strategies or tools to you use to help you create creative and memorable content on the web?
Before you know it, each point has evolved and become far more purposeful for readers
. is my major storage of ideas now… Also paper :)
You'll need time to concentrate on this, but it's worth the effort.
A2 :) I also use Trello for a swipe file process.
No I haven't! Pleased to meet you Ann!
And the result? A post that is almost purely your own.
A2 I follow a lot of writers & writing sites on Twitter, which helps immensely & draw a lot from real life
Another challenge includes dealing with terminology.
A2) Old fashioned editorial calendar!
This is especially when you have a lot of unavoidable technical jargon.
The way around this is to simply what has already been said on another blog or research article.
Break it down and your readers will love that.
Q3 How much of your strategy involves the use of interviews?
If your subject is extremely technical, it's a good idea to create a glossary to go along with your post.
A2 has made creating epic content much easier. Some of my MyBlogU-helped articles are 7000 words!
Q2: What strategies or tools do you use to help you create creative and memorable content on the web?
A1 Lately scheduling time to create content has been my main issue.
A3 I like using interviews for getting opinions on currently trendy topics. LOTS of discussion with that strategy!
Build on ideas. It can be that simple or quite tough.
A3) Presently not much but it's a powerful tool I'll use in the future
Does that tend to inspire even more articles than the original project?
A2. Sometimes, this depends on the nature of the topic you write on
However, if you have enough information (unambiguous) you can make it work.
A3 almost none -- I'm a one-woman team
The more information you have in your reach, the easier it becomes.
A3 . Yes, one project can be ~3 articles!
A3 I do 50% (at least) in interview videos and then use them in articles, too.
First time here! Had to check it since is awesome! Hi everyone.
But again, you have to be prepared to do the spade work: dig in to available info, analyze, discuss.
Part of this is a repeat of what we covered in Answer 1.
Thanks! RT : First time here! Had to check it since is awesome! Hi everyone.
Q3: How much of your strategy involves the use of interviews?
A3: If you can't get the right information you need anywhere, schedule an interview.
Interviews give you more; they allow you to clear your concepts immediately.
Often, re-phrasing what a mentor/expert says helps clarify things.
Interviews give you mentor/expert quotes that you can use in your post
Generally, 20%-30% of your posts can have interview material.
Q4: What tools or methods do you currently use to create those interviews?
You can choose to ask recognized experts on your twitter or other social media lists for help.
not sure! I find it easier to work alone than collaborate -- it's just how I do ?
You can ask to schedule an interview.
Tell your prospect what the purpose of the interview is and how you will use the information.
Sure love Twitter chats because I discover great people to follow there!
Let him/her know you would like to quote from the interview.
Most experts will be pleased with that.
Same here not to mention great ideas!
I have gotten quite a few articles and ideas from
Q5: What are some ways you could use a tool like MyBlogU?
A4 I use for textual interviews :) I have my own system for setting up video interviews
MyBlogU has an 'Interview' section that allows you ask for interviews and input.
All members can see these requests, which gives each one an opportunity to share views.
Those who request interviews and input get to approve the input.
Also, those experts/mentors who share their views score points as their views are accepted.
This allows experts on MyBlogU to build their reputation, which attracts a larger following.
You can get great ideas for articles, titles etc
For any of you who have interview-based articles, please do share! (they will be in archive, too)
Q5 What are some ways you could use a tool like MyBlogU?
A3. Small benefit from interviews in documenting . Stories come to life & educate as well.
A5 I'd have to do more research into it first! Not entirely sure what it does
A5 I could use even more in brainstorming video interview concepts and gigs
A3 I do little question things here and there. Even on Twitter I get ideas based on answers people give me.
Q6 What would you like to know about MyBlogU?
A6 all the basics: what does it do and how can it help me blog?
A6 It will “come to me” in just a few minutes :)
2night, I think u will get a good idea of "what" is, and then the udemy course helps fill the gaps on "how"
Q7 What will you be adding to your strategy this week, after (Hint: try MyBlogU :) )?
A7 Using even more and finishing up my articles there
A7 definitely checking out MyBlogU -- always happy to find new resources
