- What are some recent social media rule changes that have come our way?
We have definitely noticed that there are changes in social media, especially Twitter. Tonight we are discussing some of those things that we noticed! :)
Oh, definitely! I noticed that when I even gave a kind greeting to multiple people and it happened to have similar verbiage, it was stopped.... means a need for more creative ways to say nice things.. lol #SocialCafe— Deborah (@socialwebcafe) May 23, 2018
A1 There has been quite a bit of discussion surrounding privacy issues... #SocialCafe— Deborah (@socialwebcafe) May 23, 2018
- Specifically, what changes have we noticed in the rules related to Twitter?
When we look for the positive outcomes, we can find them, eh? Maybe some are more challenging, but they are there, if we want to find the positive.
Sometimes the changes that seem like the biggest challenges turn out to be the best blessings. It's a matter of perspective ;) #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
A2 There have been changes to what we are allowed to tweet, retweet, etc. #SocialCafe— Deborah (@socialwebcafe) May 23, 2018
- Now, are those rules related to manners or TOS (terms of service) changes?
Such a great #SocialCafe community we have! Always a giggle, even when chatting about otherwise-potentially-boring topics like TOS (terms of service) on social networking sites. Thanks, #SocialCafe! You all rock!
A3: Most have been TOS - but the changes also FORCE manners on some that were making the choice to be annoying! #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
A3 Most of the rules that have grabbed my attention are related to TOS #SocialCafe— Deborah (@socialwebcafe) May 23, 2018
- How can we find the upside of rule changes (specifically TOS) when it comes to social media?
Kathryn is on a roll and we have the opportunity to learn from her tips (and encouragement). Didn’t I say that our #SocialCafe community rocks?! :)
A4: You need to care about manners - ESPECIALLY in #socialmedia. In person, the other person has to be rude to ignore you. On #SocialMedia you don't even know :D #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
A4: Think of manners as an avenue for creating connections. They are the actions that open doors . . . LITERALLY and figuratively! #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
- Now, how can we use that upside to our advantage, to help us in our usage of social media?
Glad we could find agreement and even on such things as accountability :)
Absolutely - self police! #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
A5: Keep it simple. Create lasting connections and be relentlessly helpful to (and for) those connections. Be nice. Be friendly. Have fun! #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
- What can we do differently, as a result of social media platform TOS changes?
What else have we observed? Oh, we have goals and objectives that surround continuous process improvement. Yay!
As a writer I am reminded that I am responsible for what I write. #accountability #SocialCafe— Abigail Rushmore (@AbigailRushmore) May 23, 2018
A6 I have been careful to review (and re-review) the TOS to ensure compliance #SocialCafe— Deborah (@socialwebcafe) May 23, 2018
- What will we adjust in our future usage of social media engagement and interaction?
Just when I think we have gleaned all the positive... I am continuously inspired by what our #SocialCafe community shares. Thanks, all! You do inspire me.
And manners are such a simple but powerful tool for building your #success #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
A7: I will take time to think about others before I put it out on #socialmedia. Will it be a benefit or an annoyance? #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
- What (if anything) will we be doing differently as early as this week?
Gotta love the term #gigglesnort ... And, a purposeful approach is always a helpful way to start (or continue) our week, headed toward success.
Might be . . . #gigglesnort #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
A8: I will make a purposeful (and personal) investment in being thankful to others for their investment in me. #SocialCafe— Kathryn Lang (@Kathrynclang) May 23, 2018
